AutoTech Racing's OLOA Nissan GT-R tests at San Antonio Raceway
One Lap of America Competitor AutoTech Racing takes their 2013 Nissan GT-R to the San Antonio Raceway for some quarter-mile testing and tuning help from "The Mad Scientist" Douglas Wilks of TopSpeed Motorsports. We were sending our datalogs to Doug via email and uploading his new files for a huge gain in power on 93-octane pump gas.
During our testing, we were staged against several formidable opponents, one being a "9-Second Pro 10.5" Tire class Mustang... and a GSXR-1000, both who lost to our nearly stock, Nissan GT-R. In the end, we set the new San Antonio track record for a completely street-legal Nissan GTR with a 10.64@135.2 on Toyo R888 street tires.

I was 17 and getting ready to graduate high school. I watched this live on TV, and it was the damnedest I'd ever seen. The driver owned the dealership that provided the pace car. I remember thinking he looked like he was going way too fast after leaving the track, but this guy is a pro and he knows what he's doing...no, wait!

Who's bonehead idea was it to have a local dealership owner drive a convertible with John Glenn in it as the pace car? At the 2018 Canadian F1 race someone let a super model be the flag girl, she was so busy admiring herself she waved the checkered flag one lap early.

So the new gen 7 brakes are different but the brakes we had on gen1-6. Yes the brakes work good here but what people don’t understand is. In order to win a road course in the stock car who ever saves there brakes is who will win. Literally in 10-15 laps ive wore them completely down when I first started out. Open wheel I love the carfib. And the new gen 7 has way better brakes for endurance unfortunately it makes it easier to use which is a negative. You want the brakes to be tiny cheap basics car pads I don’t think you want drivers having good brakes. Formula 1 it’s part of the competition who can build a car to turn a corner the fastest under full control
